    Job Title: Set-Up Technician

    Job Description

    As a Set-Up Technician, you will play a critical role in planning machining operations by analyzing work orders, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, and machining parameters. You will be responsible for setting up lathes and turn mills by installing collets, tools, attachments, bushings, stops, and stock pushers, ensuring precise settings by measuring positions and sample workpieces, and maintaining adherence to international standards. Your role will involve observing drilling, grooving, cutting operations, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and documenting actions to ensure high-quality production. ****MUST HAVE TURN MILLING CNC EXPERIENCE****

    Responsibilities

    + Plan machining operations by studying work orders, engineering drawings, and materials specifications.

    + Set up lathes and turn mills by installing necessary components such as collets and tools.

    + Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.

    + Maintain specifications by observing operations and taking measurements.

    + Troubleshoot processes and adjust controls as needed.

    + Perform preventive maintenance on equipment following manufacturer's instructions.

    + Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 2-3 years’ experience machining Aluminum, Stainless, Composites/Plastics, and Brass/Bronze.

    + Experience in setting up and running turn milling machines, preferably Hardinge and Okuma.

    + Ability to make small edits to provided programs during setup.

    + Troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

    + Familiarity with lathe and mill operations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with machines with sub-spindles is preferred.

    + Programming experience is preferred.

    + Ability to modify tools with minor adjustments.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a small manufacturing environment with a team of 17 employees. The shift is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Homestead, Florida.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
