Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic and be responsible for performing preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers. Your tasks will include preventive maintenance such as lube, filters, interior/exterior cab, tire inspection, oil changes, wheel seals, and more. You will also work on engines, replacing parts like alternators, starters, drive cams, brakes, springs, and more. Use a torch and grinder when necessary, and utilize a laptop to hook up to engines for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues. Track your work through our internal Transman (TMT) software.
Responsibilities
+ Perform preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance including lube, filters, tire inspection, and oil changes.
+ Replace engine parts such as alternators, starters, and brakes.
+ Use a torch and grinder as needed.
+ Utilize a laptop to troubleshoot and diagnose engine issues.
+ Track work through internal Transman (TMT) software.
Essential Skills
+ ASE certification.
+ 1+ years' experience performing maintenance on semis, tractors, trailers, or farming equipment.
+ Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop using systems like Vandex, J Pro, Detroit Commons, Tactical, Navistar.
+ Experience working with clutches, brakes, wheel seals, and suspension.
+ Ability to obtain a Class B license.
+ Ownership of tools required for the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working on refrigeration units.
+ Refrigeration License.
+ ASE certified.

Work Environment
Work in a garage-type environment that is not climate-controlled and open to the elements. Breakroom and offices are equipped with air conditioning. Steel-toe boots are required from the first day.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, Missouri.
1st Shift paying $24-$35/hr based on the interview/experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
