    Job Description

    The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the receiving, warehousing, distribution and transportation of inventoried medical supplies stored at offsite operations centers. Records storage, retrieval, and retention program, and trucking operations, to include adherence to schedule for distribution of supplies and equipment while complying with DMV, DOT and other regulatory agencies. Reports to Senior Management of Supply Chain Services.

    Qualifications

    + High School or General Equivalent Diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred. Work requires a high School level of knowledge of several general subjects in order to handle the day to day operation of warehousing and receiving functions.

    + 3+ years preferred of progressive management experience in logistics, distribution, and knowledge of supply chain operations.

    + Knowledge of computerized materials management inventory control software and warehousing systems such as barcode and handheld scanning devices etc

    + Certified to utilize warehouse power equipment such as forklifts, electric jacks and reach trucks

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be organized and able to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

    + Analytical abilities sufficient to handle problems related to the storage and distribution of supplies, including accurate recordkeeping and verification of arriving supplies.

    + Material handling machinery to include electric jack, forklift and reach truck(stand up)

    Responsibilities

    1. Coordinate the activities of the offsite Supply Chain Logistics Operations including: Warehouse operations and Transportation operations to Hospitals and Alternate Care locations.

    2. Provide orientation, training and counsel to temporary and full time warehouse labor, drivers and clerical.

    3. Monitor Operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts and government regulations.

    4. Order supplies and equipment as necessary following departmental guidelines and standards.

    5. May participate in the hiring, discharge, evaluation and, when necessary, discipline of employees.

    6. Maintain relationships with Purchasing, Sourcing, frequently used suppliers, trucking companies and common couriers; understand their resources and processes.

    7. Demonstrate knowledge in generating and interpreting statistical, productivity and quality performance reports and utilize the data to improve the departments performance. Utilize productivity reports to assess areas of improvement.

    8. May participate with other departments and participate in relevant Lean Six Sigma events to formulate and implement updated policies, procedures, goals or objectives.

    9. Prepare management reports on equipment downtime, personnel productivity, inventory out-of-stock, vendor performance and other reports as directed by Senior Management of Supply Chain Services.

    10. Assist in the maintenance of the off-site warehouse truck fleet, security systems and elevator and computer equipment through routine maintenance, service contracts and direction of in-house engineering staff.

    11. Ensure licensing requirements and code compliance for all equipment and operating personnel. Compliance with the Department of Motor Vehicle and other regulatory agencies.

    12. Maintain records of upcoming and past schedules, statistics and metrics on schedule compliance, personnel and equipment issues.

    13. When required, participate in daily/weekly/monthly site staff meetings, corporate planning meetings and conference calls.

    14. Verify the accuracy of subordinates work assignments whether its the coordination of deliveries, the loading of supplies, prioritization or receiving activities or any paperwork associated with these duties.

    15. Monitors and controls traffic flow at dock by prioritizing trucks time at platform and insuring availability of dock time.

    16. Implement product recalls, defective returns and routine rotation of stock as required

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.4566 - $28.5293 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
