Compass Point, an Akima company, is looking to hire a Geospatial Database Engineer to join us supporting one of our current government customers at Fort Campbell, KY. The successful candidate will be part of a team that builds synthetic environments that are flown on Special Operations Forces ground and air simulators; the system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. This position will help develop, enhance, and analyze various forms of digital geographical data, and then assemble this data into real-time visual databases for flight and ground simulation.

Responsibilities
+ Collecting and preparing source material (Imagery/Elevation/etc.)
+ Collecting and/or modifying geospatial informational (GIS) data and then prepping the data for translation to 3D content
+ Processing GIS data through different workflows to generate 3D scene visualizations
+ Utilize state-of-the-art software tools to acquire, extract, exploit, correlate and fuse elevation, manmade and natural cultural features, imagery and other intelligence source data required for 3D scene visualization database production
+ Creating/Editing Unity template applications
+ Automate GEOINT/GIS processes through scripting, etc.
+ Other duties as required
Qualifications
+ Active/Or ability to obtain Secret clearance
+ Associate or Bachelor-level degree. Combination of training, education, experience (including Military service) equivalent to a degree and required years of experience may be acceptable)
+ Proficient user of one of the following programs: ESRI ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, Global Mapper, Presagis Creator, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Maxon Zbrush, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Substance 3D suit, Presagis Terra Vista, Unity, and MetaVR.
+ Experience creating and manipulating multiple geospatial intelligence data formats used to create simulation visual databases.
+ Demonstrated a strong desire to learn new skills and workflows
+ A team player that has demonstrated a superior ability in developing effective professional and interpersonal relationships with peers and colleagues across multiple functional groups and external partners.
+ Has demonstrated an ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varying customer needs.
+ Good time management skills are necessary to complete projects that range in time from a few hours to months.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.
