    The Aircraft Mechanic I avionic/electrician maintains and troubleshoots SOF peculiar aircraft MDS type MH47/MH60/MH6, as it pertains to electrical and avionics systems, sub-systems, communications, navigation systems, weapons, and aircraft survivability equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + This mechanic will be required to repair and replace aircraft wiring, replace aircraft components, and trouble shoot aircraft electrical/avionic systems as needed or as instructed in technical publications and IETMS.

    + The mechanic will need to be able to use a multi-meter and other electrical/avionic test sets in order to maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems.

    + This mechanic reads schematics, interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

    + This mechanic must be able to perform administrative actions when it comes to aircraft forms and records on systems being utilized by the organization.

    Qualifications

    + Must be a U.S. citizen.

    + Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

    + 6+ years' experience in rotary wing aviation. SOF aviation experience desirable.

    + Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records. Experience with ACN or other electronic logbook system.

    + Must have own tools/toolbox.

    + Experience using multi-meters, pitot-static testers, AWTS, and other avionic/electrical test sets.

    + Must be able to pass basic solder certification and solder vision testing.

    + May be required to pass a basic physical for operating equipment on the flight line and moving aircraft as part of a tow team.
