    The **Campus Dining Services team at CU Boulder** is currently accepting applications for a **_Materials Handler I!_** This position is responsible for receiving goods and ensuring proper storage and rotation of product, as well as maintaining the receiving and storage areas to ensure that they are clean and sanitized. This role also reconciles all invoices to ensure that the physical delivery of products matches the quantities and amounts on the invoice, including the inventories of products, goods and small-wares. If there are any last minute changes, the Material Handler will respond requests by the department for prompt distribution/ transportation of goods and equipment to the dining halls or other on- and/or off- campus locations, which may require driving department vehicles.     The **Division of Student Affairs** consists of 30 departments that provide student support and services dedicated to helping students become successful, curious, competent individuals during their time at CU Boulder.

This includes where students live, eat, make friends, build professional skills and find help if they need it. Many departments provide involvement opportunities, educational resources and support services to help students find their community and build lifelong skills. Student Affairs also has shared services departments that support the work and staff of our student-facing areas, including areas like assessment, business services, financial planning, human resources, marketing communications and information technology (IT).

    Campus Dining Services leads the industry with outstanding quality food and dining experiences. Campus venues include residential dining halls, catering and retail outlets with staff who strive to make each student's experience the best it can be. Serving about 3 million meals each year, Campus Dining Services is dedicated to expanding sustainability efforts and providing options to guests with dietary restrictions and allergens.

     

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

    _Receiving and Storage_

    + Ensure that all shipments received are free of damage, accurate and if required, temperature controlled.

    + Coordinate, prioritize and adjust daily receiving activities to ensure products are put away in a timely manner.

    + Ensure proper rotation of stock and that all goods are stored in appropriate area and secure.

    + Use computer and communication skills to ensure proper notification of damaged shipments and incorrect invoicing to immediate supervisor.

    + Offer excellent internal and external customer service.

    + Ensure any last minute changes requested by immediate supervisor are completed.

    _Safety_

    + Ensure a clean safe working environment for all faculty, students staff and visitors at the University of Colorado Boulder.

    + Ensure goods are delivered at proper temperature.

    + Use PPE and practices proper lifting techniques.

    + Ongoing daily cleaning and maintenance of facility to ensure a clean and safe environment.

    + Monitor cold storage areas for proper temperature.

    + Report issues or needed repairs to supervisor.

    + Serve on the food safety response team and responds to all food safety emergencies as appropriate to the work assignment.

    _Inventory_

    + Assist in inventory of goods, products and supplies.

    + Enter inventoried quantities into computer (FSS).

    + Daily observation and communication with Operations/Production Manager regarding any products that have low turnover, have been over purchased or are soon to expire.

    + Make determinations to move inventory to various or varied storage locations as necessary.

    _Sanitation_

    + Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of storage areas to include but not limited to: Dry storage, cold storage, and receiving areas.

    _Other_

    + Assist other facilities as necessary and performs other tasks as delegated by immediate supervisor.

    + Participate in Campus Dining Services special events as requested.

    + Operate company vehicle to deliver goods to department facilities as requested.

    What You Should Know

    + May work early mornings and weekends.

    + This position operates University vehicles and requires an active Driver's License in good standing.

    + A Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) License is also required for this position. If you do not currently have a CMV License, training will be provided by the University within the first year of employment.

    + Due to the nature of this position, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

    What We Require

    + One year of experience which includes warehousing, handling, shipping, receiving, storing, inventory, and/or distribution of goods.

    + A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year.

    + Successful completion of University of Colorado's Safety Training Program within 90 days of employment to operate vehicles essential to the position. Food Protection Manager certification and or certificate appropriate for the position level or the ability to obtain certificate appropriate to position level within 6 months of hire. Must possess appropriate certification or certificate appropriate to position level for the duration of employment with CDS.

    What You Will Need

    + Ability to work in extreme cold conditions for extended periods of time (PPE provided).

    + Ability to work in fast paced environment. Excellent customer service skills.
