Overview

The Strategic Solution Architect is a planning and advisor role responsible for understanding internal business requirements, and researching, identifying, recommending, and implementing computer and network systems being delivered to the business. This involves performing system and network modeling, researching software and hardware products or services, analysis and planning to implement technology solutions that will meet business needs within financial budget guidelines. Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Partner with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategies, modernize infrastructure, and drive innovation through cloud-native technologies. Actively participates in the assessment and implementation of new technologies in conformance with Bank policies, procedures, and objectives. As the technical expert, the architect provides support to business lines, information technology, and operations to solve complex, critical problems related to significant and unique issues. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers. Provides leadership, mentoring, direction, and assistance as well as architectural consulting expertise.

Responsibilities

+ Provides technical leadership, mentoring, direction, and assistance as well as architectural consulting expertise to information technology, operations, and other business lines in the design, identification, analysis, and recommendation of technology to support new business and operation requirements.

+ Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions tailored to the unique needs of the business.

+ Provide technical leadership for IT operations, network, security, and development, to define strategies and implement modern infrastructure that supports current and future business requirements. Evaluate and integrate new technologies to optimize system performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

+ Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services. Partner with information technology, operations, and business teams to ensure the scalability, security, and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions.

+ Ensure compliance to solution architectural design and render consulting and technical support services on project implementation to the project team and explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals.

+ Review the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at the least possible cost and guide the activities of the technical project resources to ensure timely completion of projects.

+ Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture.

+ Create system models, specifications, diagrams and assist in documenting system operational procedures for newly implemented systems and applications. Provide training to IT operation resources.

+ Insure the integrity and confidentiality of data residing in the Bank’s information systems in order to maintain and enhance regulatory compliance guidelines.

+ Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.

+ Perform related and unrelated duties as may be required.

Requirements

Education

+ Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience is required

Work Experience

+ 10+ years proven information technology experience researching, designing, implementing and supporting systems and applications in an enterprise network and internet perimeter infrastructure, cloud computing architecture, system and endpoint security, and business continuity is required

+ 10+ years proven experience scoping, planning, designing, and implementing distributed applications, infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking is required

+ 7+ years demonstrated work experience in solutions development with deep understanding of application development, architectures, and Services Oriented Architecture concepts, patterns and principles is required

+ 5+ years experience participating in pre-sales solution including providing input into statements of works (SOW) and request for proposals (RFP) is required

+ 3+ years experience with at least one cloud service provider. Experience with hybrid or multi cloud environments is required

+ Self-directed, able to prioritize and effectively handle multiple incidents at a time under high-pressure and challenging situations.

+ Dedicated team player with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the company.

+ Proven deductive logic, complex problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

+ Must have schedule flexibility and be able to work extended hours and weekends.

Licenses and Certifications

+ Must have a valid driver’s license. Regular travel to bank sites required Required
