    NOTE: This position will be based full-time in our Houston, TX office located in the Energy Corridor

     

    POSITION SUMMARY : The Accountant 4 reports to the Manager, Assistant Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyzing large data sets to recommend journal entries and offer operational insight, reviewing accounts payable vouchers, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, and leading process improvement initiatives.

    ESSENTIAL D UTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    + Prepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process , including intercompany transactions and consolidations

    + Perform complex data analyses using Microsoft Excel to prepare and review journal entries and support monthly variance reporting

    + Review and approve accounts payable vouchers , ensuring accurate coding under GAAP and NuScale’s Chart of Accounts structure

    + Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for GL accounts and subsystems

    + Dedication to continuously improving accounting , reporting , and SOX process es , with ability to lead process improvement initiatives

    + Ensure compliance with all internal controls, including those for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and external regulations

    + Support Assistant Controll er in financial statement audits , incurred cost audit s , and internal audit s

    + Act as a subject matter expert and key resource for assigned sections of NuScale’s ongoing Oracle Cloud ERP implementation project, reporting directly to the Director, Controller for this project

    + P erform other job-related duties as assigned

    + Quality Assurance : Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

    MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES :

    + Education : A minimum of a B.S. degree in Accounting or related business field is required . An advanced degree, C ertified Public Accountant designation or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred, but not required.

    + Experience : A minimum of five years of full-time accounting experience is required. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams, as well as independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Additional required or preferred skills are as follows:

    + Significant knowledge of US GAAP and SOX

    + Demonstrated proficiency of accounting/auditing in a SOX 404(b) environment

    + Proven ability to analyze operational results

    + Demonstrated proficiency identifying and driving process improvement initiatives

    + ERP system experience in a SOX environment ; Oracle Cloud experience preferred

    + Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders

    + I ndustry Requirements : Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

    The target pay range for this position is $99,175 - $119,694 annually. The full pay range is $88,915 - $139,073 annually.

     

    At NuScale, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, full-time working experience, education and training, equity within the department.
