    Compensation Overview

     

    The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

     

    Salary Range

     

    $71,900.00 - $118,700.00

    What Is the Opportunity?

     

    The Meeting Planner, plans, coordinates and oversees the budgeting and implementation of events for Travelers, including trade shows, incentive trips, business meetings, seminars, and other events as they arise. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the event management field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment and works independently to plan and accomplish goals.

     

    This role includes some travel, both local and national, outside of the office for events. Travel varies throughout the year with certain instances involving overnight stays.

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    + Provides complete project management of various meetings and events as listed above.

    + Counsels management regarding prospective meeting sites and incentive trip destinations.

    + Prepares and manages budgets for all assigned meetings and events.

    + Negotiates rates, fee payment schedules, and contract terms with site representatives for all off-site meetings and special events.

    + Researches and recommends ideas for dinners, theme events and meal functions, leisure activities and entertainment options, as needed for a particular event.

    + Develops and delivers promotional marketing programs and items, which involves design, content and timely delivery of printed material and other informational pieces.

    + Maintains ongoing relations with outside meeting planning, travel, entertainment, food service and promotional /gift vendors as needed.

    + Encourages and analyzes attendee evaluations.

    + Provides wrap-up reports on all conferences managed, including attendee evaluations.

    + Coordinates and directs media and graphic projects as they relate to the event.

    + Manages the trade show functions of the company, including the coordination of booth and material shipment.

    + Obtains and analyzes meeting participant feedback, focusing on ways to continually enhance future meetings and events.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

    + 5+ years of professional meeting planning experience preferred.

    + Ability to plan and manage a meeting or event from the earliest conceptual stages to post-event evaluation and budget reconciliation.

    + Ability to work independently.

    + Strong negotiation skills.

    + Creativity in planning activities, themes, venues and marketing materials.

    + Ability to work well with senior management, external clients and vendors, and to collaborate with other meetings and conference planners.

    + Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, focus on details, handle pressure, and make logistical decisions independently.

    + Willingness to travel (approximately 25%).

     

    What is a Must Have?

     

    + Minimum of 4 years of professional meeting planning experience or logistics coordination experience required.
