Hybrid 3 days a week in NYC (Tues-Thurs)

We are seeking an experienced IT Delivery Manager to oversee the technology workstreams associated with relocating the U.S. headquarters of a global news organization. This 6 to 8 month full-time contract role is focused on the planning and delivery of all information technology components to ensure a seamless transition to our new office in Manhattan.

The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the U.S. IT Director, as well as our UK-based Project Manager and Infrastructure teams, ensuring cross-regional alignment and on-time, in-scope delivery with minimal disruption to business operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 7+ years of IT infrastructure or technical project delivery experience in enterprise environments.

• Proven success leading technology components of corporate office relocations or new office builds.

• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, structured cabling, wireless, AV systems, physical security, and virtualization/storage platforms.

• Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, vendor management, and stakeholder communication.

• Experience working across time zones with globally distributed teams is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Stakeholder Coordination

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all technology activities related to the office move.

• Act as the primary liaison between internal IT, third-party vendors, and global partners.

• Maintain detailed plans, track milestones & dependencies, identify risks, and ensure transparent communication across all teams.

Technology Workstreams Covered

1. IT Rooms (IDF/MDF):

• Collaborate on layout planning, rack design, power & cooling, UPS integration, and equipment migration (e.g., VMware, NetApp).

• Coordinate patch panel setup and structured cabling with external vendors.

2. External Connectivity (WAN):

• Collaborate on the transfer, setup, and configuration of network infrastructure equipment.

• Coordinate ISP requirements gathering, site surveys, installation & testing, and track ISP SLAs.

3. Structured Cabling:

• Guide design and implementation of cable trays and conduits, switch port layouts, fiber uplinks, and cabling standards including labeling and testing.

4. Wireless Infrastructure (WiFi):

• Collaborate on deployment of Cisco wireless LAN controllers, RF surveys, AP installation, cable drops, and secure SSID configuration.

5. Audio-Visual & Digital Signage:

• Manage implementation of Cisco Webex Room Devices, touch panel setups, digital signage systems, HDMI/AV cabling, and IPTV service distribution.

6. Physical Security (Verkada):

• Coordinate deployment of surveillance and access control (Verkada Command), including camera placement, and PoE planning in collaboration with low-voltage contractor.

7. Storage & Virtualization:

• Support the migration of NetApp ONTAP storage, Dell PowerEdge servers, and VMware ESXi hosts.

Preferred Certifications:

• CompTIA Server+ – preferred

• CompTIA Network+ – preferred

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – preferred

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – nice to have

• Cisco Collaboration/Webex Room Devices Specialist – nice to have

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
