    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent

    2. Previous work experience preferred

    3. Be able to lift at least 70 pounds,

    4. Have an excellent work ethic, ability to work well with others

    5. Physically able to climb ladders, bend and/or aquat, or crawl into awkward or high spaces.

     

    REPORTS TO: Head Custodian/Maintenance Technician

     

    SUPERVISES: District Custodians

     

    POSITION GOAL: To maintain the buildings in a condition of safety, neatness and aesthetic attractiveness so that full educational use can be made of them.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.

    + Considerable knowledge of building and cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.

    + Assigns tasks to crew of district custodians and supervises their work.

    + Assists as required when assigned to evening activities.

    + Ability to work with others and to provide harmonious leadership and supervision of personnel.

    + Motivate the staff to maintain cleanliness.

    + Assists in the performance of routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.

    + Checks heating and ventilating equipment for proper working order.

    + Performs building checks as assigned including weekends and holidays by the Maintenance Technician.

    + Makes minor repairs to lockers, doors, windows, etc.

    + Maintain adequate cleaning supply inventory but avoids excess stock.

    + Assure ALL District entrance doors, exits and sidewalks are clear of snow and ice at all times

    + Maintain all public areas in a clean and inviting environment to be checked daily/nightly.

    + Follows and embodies the district's missions, vision, and belief statements.

    + Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director and/or Superintendent to meet the needs to the district.

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate as per the negotiated contract and other benefits. 260-day contract at 8 hours of work per day, shift and schedule to be determined by the Facilities Director.

     

    EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow Clarke Community School District board policy 411.7.
