    THE POSITION

    Are you a detail-oriented accountant or auditor with investment experience, strong financial acumen, and a passion for navigating accounting risks and internal controls?     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a self-driven and motivated professional, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial excellence and risk management within our organization. Your primary responsibilities as an Investment Accountant will include performing quality control reviews of financial data, analyzing financial risks, and evaluating internal controls with a focus on investment-related transactions. You also will serve as a key liaison to the SERS internal auditors, compliance personnel, various external auditors, and SERS actuary.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

    + Work hours: A work schedule beginning and ending between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, depending on operational requirements. The requested schedule may not end prior to 4:00 PM.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time with occasional onsite visits as needed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location in Pennsylvania; otherwise, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Four years of professional accounting or auditing experience which includes one year of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor’s degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of professional investment accounting or investment auditing experience, and a bachelor’s degree supplemented by eighteen credits in accounting.

    + You must pass a background investigation.

    + You must possess satisfactory communication and interpersonal skills.

    + You must be adept at problem-solving and decision-making.

    + You must possess satisfactory job knowledge and technical skills.

    + You must demonstrate satisfactory initiative and motivation.

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
