THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is hiring a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Crawford County Maintenance Office. In this position, the Clerical Assistant 2 will serve as the receptionist and provide clerical support for the office preparing correspondence and processing documents.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Responsibilities of this position include serving as the receptionist by greeting customers in person and by telephone, directing inquiries to appropriate staff and maintaining the visitor logs. Enters customer complaints and concerns into the Customer Care Center System, assists customers with tort claims, prepares correspondence related to pothole and mailbox concerns, distributes special event applications, and driveway permit applications. This position is the county contact for hauling permit payments. You will also receive customer payments, complete payment logs and send payments to the District Office permit unit via Pony Driver. This position will receive all purchasing card (P-Card) transactions from approved users and enter and code all purchasing card transactions in the Active Pay Program prior to the monthly deadline.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
+ Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
+ Graduation from high school; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
+ One year or more of previous employment in the clerical field.
+ One year or more of experience using Microsoft Office products.
+ Two years or more of customer service background (answering incoming telephone calls, re-routing class as a switchboard operator or speaking with customers and/or employees that come into the office)
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
