THE POSITION

Our Social Workers provide support to individuals within an inpatient psychiatric setting. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Social Worker 1 provides admission assessments, provides direct contact support to patients, and serves as a contact for community providers, county liaisons, and family members in the best interest of the patients served. Our team will rely on you to make clinical decisions related to patient care such as discharge resource and active treatment, assist patients in legal matters that are prior issues or that have presented during their stay at Torrance, and advise individuals, their family members, and legal guardians of treatment progress and encourage their support and input. Additionally, the social worker provides social work consultation to other professional disciplines and the treatment team.
Your responsibilities will include assessing each individual's psychosocial strengths, weaknesses, and social work service needs, and eligibility for services; participating in the development and implementation of each assigned individual's comprehensive individual care and treatment plan; and ensuring needed benefits and services are obtained in accordance with assigned individuals' treatment plans and applicable mandates, regulations, and policies. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ A bachelor's or master’s degree in social work or social welfare.
+ Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
