The Medical Outcomes Science Liaison (MOSL) engages in peer to peer scientific and health economic and outcomes discussions with external health care access decision makers (HCDMs) and influencers within US public and private health care entities, including but not limited to, managed care organizations (MCOs), specialty pharmacy providers (SPPs), pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), integrated delivery networks (IDNs), accountable care organizations (ACOs), employers and employee health benefits consultants (EHBCs), within assigned geography. The MOSL identifies and builds strong relationships with key regional HCDM customers and serves as the primary medical liaison between BHC and the customer.
Responsibilities:
+ Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on the health outcomes, economic impact, approved product labels, clinical trial data and disease state guidelines on all BHC’s portfolio.
+ Engage with external stakeholders to communicate evidence-based data, health outcomes, and health policy information to a varied HCDM audience. Maintain and continually enhance clinical, scientific, and current healthcare landscape expertise.
+ Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key external stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), and other cross-functional partners as appropriate and as identified through Value & Access leadership.
+ Identify, anticipate and address population-level scientific, outcomes research, and health policy needs of customers becoming the trusted scientific advisor while leveraging internal and external resources to meet customer needs, as appropriate.
+ Provide support, including analysis and appraisal of health technology assessments, to healthcare access decision makers and influencers for BHC's Therapeutic Areas, new products, new/updated indications and marketed products.
+ Keep abreast of US health policy trends and working in close collaboration with cross-functional team to address strategic objectives in anticipation of these policy trends.
Qualifications:
+ Advanced degree required, preferably M.D., D.O., Pharm.D. or Ph.D.
+ Preferred but not required: MBA, MPH
+ 3-5 years of experience in a payer/pharmacy benefit manager, VA/DoD, CMS, State Medicaid, health care consulting. Completion of relevant Residency or Fellowship programs may be considered in lieu of some work experience.
+ Required skills include strong scientific and business acumen, impactful communication skills both oral and written, active listening skills, networking, relationship development, lead/influence without authority, business analysis skills, advanced technical expertise and business analysis skills, critical thinking, innovative problem-solving skills and negotiation skills.
+ Teamwork involving internal/external networking within the territory and cross-functionally.
+ Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude, possessing the initiative required to achieve desired goals both independently and within a team structure.
+ Ability to travel 70% of the time.
As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by many factors including skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $150k - $215k.
