Job Summary

The Small Equipment Operator is primarily responsible for the operation of a small forklift; also responsible for moving materials to and from warehouse storage; and packing materials for shipping.

Essential Functions

+ Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”

+ Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”

+ Understands how to safely pack items in crates for outgoing shipments.

+ Understands how to safely load/unload truckloads of incoming/outgoing materials.

+ Must be able to safely band materials for shipments on truck.

+ Acts as helper/spotter for the Shuttle Operator.

+ Experience and knowledge operating a Small Forklift.

+ Paperwork is highly accurate with minimal errors.

+ Follows prescribed safety standards and regulations.

+ Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

+ Prior related experience and/or training in a fabrication or machine shop environment.

+ Ability to operate tools and equipment applicable to position.

+ Working knowledge of basic hand tools.

+ Certification and ability to operate Small Forklift.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Ability to interact and communicate well with others in a fast-paced environment.

+ Obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program.

+ Work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time. Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping and occasional climbing on to equipment and/or trailers.

+ Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing a minimum of 35 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds, with assistance, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment, or tools.

+ Occasional overtime may be required to ensure project deadlines are met.
