    Summary You will serve as an AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS INSPECTOR in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST MAINTENANCE REPAIR OVERHAULPRODUCTION DEPTARTMENT PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will serve as the Senior Aircraft Mechanic and technical authority on assigned aircraft with responsibility for troubleshooting, assigning, coordinating, overseeing, and performing maintenance, movement and periodic inspections. You will perform daily, pre-flight, turnaround, post-flight and special inspections. You will operate ground support equipment such as air compressors, generators, gas turbine air starters, hydraulic test units, and ground air conditioning units. You will perform operational checks of engines (including both low and high power turn-ups), control surfaces, and systems indicators by observing performance of aircraft during functional check of each mechanical and electrical system. You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Performing daily, pre-flight, turnaround, post-flight and special inspections in accordance with checklists and forms; 2) Analyzing flight discrepancies and effects necessary repairs to ready aircraft for flight or ready for transfer; 3) Operating ground support equipment such as air compressors, generators, gas turbine air starters, hydraulic test units, and ground air conditioning units; 4) Performing operational checks of engines, control surfaces, and systems indicators by observing performance of aircraft during functional check of each mechanical and electrical system; 5) Determining work assignments for other personnel assigned to complete overhaul assignments. You will be required to obtain and maintain an annual passing score on the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization examination for the assigned aircraft. You will be required to obtain and maintain a plane captain (PC) and (ATO) aircraft engine turn-up certification within 12 months. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
