Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Change Estimator to join its organization!!!
Responsibilities:
+ Serve as a team member to support the BAE NSR Maintenance team to provide consistent, detailed man-hour cost estimates for proposed ship repair and fabrication projects.
+ Review customer requests for contract changes for Navy and Commercial vessels to develop man-hour estimates, by work item and/or work package.
+ Perform pricing in the repair, replacement or modification of structural, piping, machinery, electrical, propulsion systems and preservation for military and commercial ships.
+ Perform onboard inspections to assist in pricing changes
+ Read and understand and interpret the requirements of a Contract.
+ Formulate a Request for Contract Change (RCC) tracker for all RCCs received for reporting and tracking purposes.
+ Identify Subcontracting and Material requirements from Condition Found Reports needed to prepare a complete work estimate
+ Review subcontractor quotations to determine that all work required of the subcontractor is understood and included in their pricing and that they can accomplish the required work within the established milestones.
+ Review all subcontractor quotations for any exceptions that the subcontractor is not pricing
+ Meet and communicate with operations team for any support or lessons learned as necessary during the estimating process as required
+ Prepare the final estimate in a timely manner for Contract Administrator review and submittal
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ 4 years of experience or equivalent education/experience
+ Ability to read and comprehend Navy 4-E specifications, Commercial vessel type contract changes, corresponding references (LAR s, RLAR s), drawings, and technical manuals.
+ Experience in the repair of Naval vessels and Commercial vessels.
+ Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe.
+ Experience with Naval Standard Item requirements, ABS and USCG requirements.
+ Detailed and deadline-oriented team player who can work independently or as part of a team.
+ Negotiation experience with customers
+ Basic knowledge and experience with various shipboard systems to include but not limited to piping, electrical, steam plants, diesel plants, propulsion systems and structural repairs.
+ Experience with pricing with labor rates, subcontractor pricing, and material pricing.
+ Ability to read and interpret requirements contained in condition found reports, work specifications, contract changes, references and technical drawings
+ Ability to submit requests for clarifications/corrections of contract changes as needed.
+ Ability to read and interpret cost reports, subcontractor reports and material reports.
+ Basic understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARs) as it applies to pricing the contract changes.
+ Ability to meet strict deadlines in the development of Contract Change pricing to meet contractual requirements.
+ Able to work multiple projects effectively

+ Bachelors Degree
+ Shipyard experience
+ Apprentice graduate experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
