Application Architect Cloud Data Modernization

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Architect – Cloud Data Modernization opening for our client in Dallas, TX.
**Location:** Dallas, TX
**Duration:** 12 months
Duties:
+ Lead pre-Epic planning and readiness activities, including collaboration with Epic Owners, Epic Troika, and ART Leads to refine backlog and scope of features.
+ Define detailed acceptance criteria for features to ensure alignment with strategic business goals.
+ Analyze and interpret customer needs to inform customer-centric solutions.
+ Create and communicate feature visions and roadmaps that align with enterprise strategy and offer competitive advantages.
+ Work closely with Product Owners to elaborate feature details and assist in the development of user stories.
+ Support the development of the architectural runway in collaboration with ART Architects.
+ Drive Epic and ART (Agile Release Train) planning activities, developing strategic visions and roadmaps that support organizational priorities.
+ Present and articulate prioritized features, key milestones, and their alignment with business objectives during PI (Program Increment) Planning sessions.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud architecture and data modernization initiatives.
Skills:
+ Deep understanding of cloud-based architecture (preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP).
+ Expertise in modern data platforms, data lakes, and data warehousing solutions.
+ Strong background in Agile methodologies and the SAFe framework.
+ Excellent strategic thinking and planning abilities.
+ Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
+ Proficiency in architectural design tools and frameworks.
+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Experience:
+ Minimum 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in application architecture or enterprise-level cloud architecture roles.
+ Proven track record in cloud data modernization projects.
+ Experience with Epic and ART planning within a SAFe Agile environment.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
+ Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
