    Description of Job

    The Division of Real Estate exists to protect consumers through licensing, regulation, and enforcement of the provision of the state licensing statutes and board and commission rules pertaining to appraisal management companies, homeowners associations, real estate brokers, real estate appraisers, mortgage loan originators and mortgage companies, and subdivision developers.

    Position:SIA 7668

    This position exists to provide technical support work involving assisting an administrator or other professional by analyzing and interpreting basic principles, rules, regulations, policies, precedents, other guidelines, and objectives specific to the real estate broker continuing education program and the auditing of licensees regarding their continuing education compliance. This position is responsible for conducting such continuing education audits and working with licensees to review their education submissions, answer questions and provide information, and/or advise them on the audit program requirements. In addition, the position handles the technical requirements related to any Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests submitted to the division, which includes the review, analysis and response to those requests.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    + Developing a quarterly audit list with the assistance of the licensing section, and contacting the selected licensees for the continuing education (CE) audit and following up on the requested documentation;

    + Reviewing all documentation of education provided by the licensees in order to determine if they are in compliance with all education requirements, and noting any deficiencies;

    + Maintaining statistics regarding the quarterly audit numbers, including the number of compliant and non-compliant licensees;

    + Reviewing courses submitted for Commission approval for broker continuing education credit and determining whether courses meet the criteria for approval and effectively communicating with education providers;

    + Conduct course audits to ensure providers are compliant with respective continuing education requirements, rules, and regulations.

    + Assisting with responses to CORA requests to ensure compliance with the proper withholding of confidential/protected information, while still providing full disclosure of the information that is classified as public;

    + Maintaining an informational tracking record of all CORA requests and results in the division database for recording and reporting purposes.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MQs):

    There are two ways to qualify for this position: 1) Experience OR 2) A Combination of Education and Experience

     

    Option 1: Experience

    Five (5) years professional* experience performing all of the following functions:

    + Experience analyzing documents for completeness, correctness, and/or compliance with laws, rules, policies and procedures;

    + Experience compiling and analyzing data, including utilizing databases;

    + Experience managing a high volume of calls and emails, including responding to difficult customers with tact and diplomacy;

    + Experience working according to detailed policies, procedures, and deadlines;

    + Experience utilizing general PC software applications, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Google drive, Google forms, Google sheets etc.).

     

    Option 2: A Combination of Education AND Experience

     

    + Associate’s Degree and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in business, computer information systems, criminal justice, political science, law, psychology, sociology, or in a field of study closely related to the work assignment; AND

    + Three (3) years professional* experience performing all of the following functions:

    + Experience analyzing documents for completeness, correctness, and/or compliance with laws, rules, policies and procedures;

    + Experience compiling and analyzing data, including utilizing databases;

    + Experience managing a high volume of calls and emails, including responding to difficult customers with tact and diplomacy;

    + Experience working according to detailed policies, procedures, and deadlines;

    + Experience utilizing general PC software applications, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Google drive, Google forms, Google sheets etc.).

    + Experience managing a heavy complaint and/or investigative caseload;

    + Experience applying generally accepted standards of practice directly related to any of the areas regulated by the Division of Real Estate;
