Maintains a positive image for the practice by dealing with patients, doctors, and insurance companies with a high level of courtesy and respect. Performs pre-certifications as requested by insurance companies. Processes all in-network, doctor to doctor and out of network referrals for all managed care insurances. Works as managed care reviewer to ensure that charts are pulled and all clinical information is obtained for referrals and pre-certifications.

+ Receives calls from patients and physician offices regarding referrals/insurance guidelines etc.

+ Initiates paperwork as needed

+ Works with physician billing to resolve managed care denials/problems

+ Communicates with various companies to gain referral approval

+ Works with insurance companies to authorize pre certifications

_Required:_

+ High School diploma or equivalent

+ Minimum 2 years pre-certification or managed care referral experience

+ Excellent customer relation skills

+ Demonstrated communication skills

+ Demonstrated organizational skills

+ Demonstrated independent decision making skills

+ Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

_Preferred:_

+ Medical terminology proficiency of 80%25%20

+ 35 wpm typing skill
