    Position Specific Description

     

    NextEra Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Finance to join our Treasury team. This individual will play a critical role in managing the company’s ~$40 B interest rate hedge portfolio and currency risk exposures, with a focus on hedging strategies that protect equity returns for newly signed projects and refinancing activities. This position will also have responsibility for cross-currency swaps related to non-U.S. debt issuances, ensuring optimal financial outcomes across global capital markets.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the execution and ongoing management of an interest rate hedge portfolio to mitigate financial risk on new financings and refinancings.

    + Partner with the capital markets, project finance, development, and risk teams to structure and implement effective hedge strategies that align with project economics and corporate objectives.

    + Monitor interest rate markets and assess the potential impact on the company’s financial portfolio and capital structure.

    + Support documentation and effectiveness testing in partnership with the accounting team.

    + Manage cross-currency swap programs to hedge exposure from non-USD-denominated debt issuances.

    + Perform quantitative analysis to evaluate hedge performance and risk metrics.

    + Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, swap counterparties, and internal stakeholders.

    + Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, articulating risk exposure, hedge performance, and market insights.

    + Ensure compliance with internal risk management policies and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred).

    + 5+ years of experience in banking risk solutions/rates, corporate finance, treasury, capital markets, or financial risk management.

    + Proven experience with interest rate derivatives and cross-currency swaps, ideally in a project finance or infrastructure context.

    + Advanced Bloomberg and Excel skills

    + Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment tools.

    + Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.

    + Familiarity with hedge accounting concepts and regulatory frameworks is strongly preferred.

    • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements for transactions and reporting

    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
