    Position Title:

    Probationary High School Spanish Teacher

    Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

    Grand Island High School, 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM

    Salary:

    BA Step 1 $48,007 or MA Step 1 $50,670 per GITA contract

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • New York State Certified Teacher in Spanish (7-12) required; additional certification in French preferred.

    • Strong understanding of LOTE Checkpoint A and B assessments.

    • Ability to provide differentiated instruction to students at all levels.

    • Familiarity with the World Language New York State Learning Standards.

    • Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.

    • Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

    • Strong work ethic and commitment to school's mission and vision.

    • Strong written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Evidence of positive classroom management skills.

    • Evidence of successful use of educational technology for instructional purposes.

    Qualifications Desired:

    • Dual certification in French 7-12 preferred.

    • Experience in LOTE curriculum development preferred.
