    The Katherine Thomas School Program in Rockville, MD (Montgomery County), services students with language and learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and sensory motor disabilities, moderate to high functioning autism, and/or other health impairments in grades K - 8. Our school has teacher openings for elementary and middle school teachers beginning with the 2025/2026 school year. Please indicate which grades you are interested in teaching on your application.     Annual salary range of $56,000 to $85.000, depending on experience and level of education

    Responsibilities of the teacher include:

    + Develop instruction in academic and independent living skills following the Maryland and other funding source requirements

    + Providing necessary accommodations to meet individual, group, and program needs

    + Write and implement IEPs/Behavioral Plans

    + Create a supportive learning environment

    + Supervise teacher assistant(s)

    + Work collaboratively with team members

    + Utilize technology devices to assist students in accessing grade level curriculum

    Requirements of the Special Education Teachers:

    + Bachelors Degree Required

    + MUST have a Maryland Special Education Teaching Certificate in Special Education or ability to earn this certificate shortly after position start date

    + Experience with students on the Autism spectrum preferred
