    Job Description

    The Vice President of Information Technology (VP, CIO) at Mercury Systems is viewed as a strategic partner to the business to help drive growth and profitability. The successful candidate will be capable of forming collaborative partnerships with all levels of the business and aligning talented IT resources to meet the needs of a fast-paced, growing enterprise. The ideal candidate will have extensive business and IT leadership experience as a CIO at a Senior Director or VP level with demonstrated, consistent success delivering value to the business through scalable IT solutions.

     

    This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

    Job Responsibilities Include:

    + Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy aligned with the company’s strategic goals, including R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and defense contract requirements.

    + Oversee enterprise IT systems, including ERP, PLM, CAD/CAM systems, and data infrastructure to support public company reporting obligations and engineering and defense program requirements.

    + Direct cybersecurity operations, disaster recovery planning, and risk management strategies in high-security environments.

    + Lead and manage the IT organization, ensuring recruitment, development, and retention of top talent in infrastructure, business applications, application engineering, cybersecurity, and end-user services.

    + Collaborate with senior leadership, functional leaders, and defense partners to ensure IT alignment with evolving defense program requirements and security mandates.

    + Lead system selection and migration projects, digital transformation initiatives, and drive innovation to improve customer experience and operational performance.

    + Effectively manage communication with the Mercury community, including the executive staff and board of directors.

    + Oversee IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance accountability.

    + Lead IT audit readiness and responses for government and industry compliance reviews.

    + Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree: typically, in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    + Ideally 15+ years of senior IT leadership experience within the aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.

    + Strong track record in implementing and supporting enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle.

    + Proven experience formulating, planning, and executing comprehensive strategies for a global overhaul of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This involves not only a deep understanding of organizational needs but also the ability to implement transformative changes that enhance efficiency across all levels.

    + Deep understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards, including an understanding of CMMC requirements.

    + Experience in delivering cutting-edge analytics solutions, with a particular focus on the adaptation of enterprise-wide Artificial Intelligence solutions. This includes harnessing data to create insightful, actionable strategies that empower organizations to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

    + Public sector executive experience in defining and executing a technology strategy and roadmap to transform and lead complex information enterprises.

    + Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations and the associated operational, accounting, and finance reporting required to ensure rapid decision support to business leaders.

    + Ability to develop an application's architecture vision aligned with business objectives and translate it into a tangible deployment roadmap.

    + Extensive experience steering product IT initiatives, particularly in advancing technology solutions that facilitate product development. This role requires a keen insight into integrating technology with business objectives to foster innovation and drive progress.

    + Ability to lead through complexity and drive innovation in high-stakes, regulated environments with tight deadlines.

    + Experience in M&A, IT integration, and technology modernization.

    + Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a group of highly technical, seasoned professionals within a complex business environment.

    + Strategic thinker with a mission-focused approach.

    + This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Advanced Degree: Master's in Business Administration, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    + CIO experience in a public company.

    + The candidate must be able to work hybrid in one of the following Mercury locations:

    + Andover, MA

    + Chantilly, VA

    + Alexandria, VA / DC
