Job Summary
We are seekingan outstanding uveitis fellowship trained ophthalmologist. We welcome applications from physician-scientists with an independent researchprogram in visual sciences for the instructional tenure track as well as academically oriented clinicians for the clinical track.Successful candidates willbe expectedto establish an academic uveitis clinicalpractice, engage in scholarly activity, and be committed to teamwork. Thesuccessfulcandidate will also be expectedto participate in research andgraduateeducation aswell as indepartmentalefforts ineducation including resident and fellow training. The University of MichiganMedicalSchoolprovides an outstanding academicenvironment for all areas ofbiomedical sciences andhas for many years been aleading center for research inophthalmology and visual sciences. Vision research at the University of Michigan is supportedby a VisionCore grant supportingoutstanding facilities and an NEI-funded traininggrant forgraduate students andfellows in eye research.
Required Qualifications*
We welcome applicants to apply who are Board-eligible or certified in ophthalmology and have completed a cornea fellowship. Successful candidates will have an MD PhD degree, or equivalent, in areas as described above. Documentation of scholarly ability and achievement (record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; record of acquisition of external funding for research programs, detailed research plan, collaborative research experience) is expected. Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated interest in graduate and post-doctoral education and possess critical teaching skills.

Background Screening
