Job Summary
CoE RPM Finance is seeking a finance professional to provide financial and administrative support to the RPM Finance team and Engineering Administrative Units. The Financial Specialist is a key member of the business office, serving multiple units. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to partner with colleagues at all levels and within multiple University offices.

Responsibilities*
Account Management: 60%
+ Conduct detailed reconciliation of unit expenses to maintain consistent and accurate financial records.
+ Regularly establish and update financial records to ensure data integrity.
+ Consolidate and review account data, preparing precise journal entries to accurately document financial transactions.
+ Assist in monitoring fund levels by following established guidelines to ensure they meet organizational objectives and comply with funding requirements, reporting discrepancies to senior staff.
Compliance: 10%
+ Assist with the preparation and execution of the annual GAP analysis to identify discrepancies and highlight areas requiring improvement within financial processes.
+ Assist in improvement efforts based on the analysis outcomes to support compliance and operational efficiency, keeping the organization aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
+ Gain an understanding of procurement policies to process travel and expense requests accurately.
+ Review expense reports critically to verify compliance with policy and provide financial approval where appropriate.
Scholarships/Fellowships: 15%
+ Assist in the scholarship and fellowship award processes by participating in developing and implementing selection criteria and procedures.
+ Reconcile scholarship and fellowship allocations to ensure accurate distribution of funds in accordance with established guidelines.
+ Support the establishment and maintenance of Financial Aid Information Technology Systems (FAITs) to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial aid information.
Unit Support: 15%
+ Learn and understand the organizational structure and functions of different units to facilitate more effective collaboration.
+ Financial analysis of unit accounts.
+ Assist in developing and preparing meeting agendas to ensure the inclusion of all relevant topics.
+ Follow up on action items from meetings to ensure accountability and progress on assigned tasks.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a financially related field.
+ Excellent, demonstrated customer service skills are essential as customer service is core to the mission of CoE Finance.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite tools, with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and software tools.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
+ Skilled in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
+ Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail, sound judgment, persistence in seeing tasks through to completion, and a commitment to high standards of work quality.
+ Enthusiastic energy for working in a team environment, with a strong desire to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Proven ability to develop and implement procedures, prepare reports, and handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients.
+ Experience with University systems such as MPathways, MReports, Tableau, and Business Objects.
