Responsibilities You will secure, maintain, operate, and repair water treatment plant equipment and associated systems. You will pump, treat, store, and distribute raw and finished potable water through the water systems. You will maintain logs, reports, and records of plant operations to include test results, observations, treatment and weather conditions. You will monitor equipment to maintain efficiency and control formation of pollutants including constant observation of flow meters and charts. You will prevent major damage or system shut downs by adhering to proper maintenance requirements. You will adhere to safety and security procedures and regulations and promptly report any observed or identified violations in accordance with established guidelines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Operating water treatment plants and being responsible for analysis, evaluation, treatment, distribution, and monitoring of water for an installation. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions. Several vacancies may be filled.
