Summary About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 81st Readiness Division, Reserve Personnel Action Center Bragg, HUB, NC017, located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Research complex pay issues; perform quality control reviews; and ensure proper record management and other administrative tasks are performed in a timely manner. Review, develop, interpret, implement and provide guidance on military HR laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Supervise the daily activities of personnel within a Reserve Personnel Action Center (RPAC). Responsible for setting priorities, assigning work to subordinates, resolving employee complaints, conducting minor disciplinary actions and evaluating the performance of subordinates. Responsible for managing military Human Resource (HR) programs, military pay issues and administrative functions for Active/Reserve components. Analyze military HR management issues and develop solutions; utilizing systems to complete personnel actions and pay actions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing knowledge of military personnel, finance and administrative regulations; operations procedures to manage military personnel programs; review military personnel and pay actions and resolve complex military pay issues; and compliance with internal controls and inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Administrative Law Employee HR Management - Basic Fundamentals and Operations of Military and Civilian Pay Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Human Capital & Resource Management Career Field (CF) position. One year supervisory probationary period may be required. Salary includes applicable locality pay. As a supervisor, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements.
