The Opportunity
Stanford Seed is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications to help amplify our mission and share the stories of entrepreneurs who are changing the world. This is a full time benefits-eligible position. While proximity to Stanford’s campus is a plus, we welcome remote applicants from all locations. Occasional international travel (1 - 3 times per year) is required.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications and collaborate with Stanford stakeholders and global partners. You’ll lead a variety of projects-from brand collateral creation to social media strategy-while building systems and processes that enable meaningful global impact.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Project Management
+ Lead the planning, scheduling, and tracking of marketing and communication efforts.
+ Maintain clear timelines, anticipate bottlenecks, manage competing priorities, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Campaigns & Content
+ Oversee recruitment campaigns for the Seed Transformation Program (STP) and volunteer programs, managing assets and executing across email, WhatsApp, and social media.
+ Coordinate with external agencies and internal stakeholders to support live and digital outreach events.
+ Participate in social media strategy, content ideation, curation, and performance monitoring.
+ Conduct social listening to uncover opportunities for engagement and identify brand risks.
Platform & Contractor Management
+ Serve as the primary admin for digital platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Pardot, Khoros, WhatsApp, Bitly, WordPress), ensuring smooth operations and timely updates.
+ Manage external consultants and agencies; assist with sourcing new partners as needed.
Branding & Asset Management
+ Support the implementation of brand guidelines across our global organization.
+ Manage design needs for brochures, presentations, and templates; maintain and organize visual assets (photo/video) in Google Drive.
+ Update website content and provide light design support (Google Slides, HTML).
Community Engagement
+ Cultivate a vibrant Seed Transformation Network (alumni community) through newsletters, WhatsApp engagement, and program-specific communications.
+ Draft and schedule emails using tools like Pardot (training provided as needed).
Event & Program Support
+ Support real-time communications during events, design presentations, coordinate social content, and follow up on post-event deliverables.
Qualifications
Required
+ Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated project management experience.
+ Excellent communication skills across multiple channels and audiences.
+ Strong organizational skills; ability to manage details while maintaining a clear view of project goals.
+ Proficiency and interest in marketing technology, including CRM and lead management, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), Google Suite, website platforms, design tools, and email marketing.
+ Adaptability and eagerness to learn new platforms and tools (e.g., Pardot, Khoros, Asana, WhatsApp, AI-based tools).
+ Proactive, self-starting, and excellent at follow-through.
+ Ability to translate high-level strategy into actionable steps and systems.
Preferred
+ Experience working in international or emerging market contexts (e.g., Africa, South Asia).
+ Recruitment experience in a higher education setting.
+ Social media management.
+ Design experience or experience working closely with designers.
+ Proficiency with Salesforce, HTML, WhatsApp, Google Analytics, and creative tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc.).

Work Environment
+ Occasional international travel (1 - 3 times per year) is required for events or program launches.
+ Flexibility in working hours is required (some early mornings) as our team is spread across numerous time zones.
This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University hasfive Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $103,118 to $141,006 per annum/hour for remote positions.
The expected pay range for this position is $135,363 to $160,682 per annum/hour for on-site/hybrid positions.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities, relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, performance; as well as other business and organization needs such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the minimum qualifications, departmental budget availability, and market and internal equity across the unit, department and reporting relationships.
