    Job Title: Software Developer

    Reports To: Director of Technology

     

    The Software Developer is a key member of the development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications to meet the organization's needs. Working closely with stakeholders and other team members, this role contributes to the development of high-quality, scalable software solutions that drive business objectives and enhance user experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Software Development:

    + Design, develop, and implement software solutions based on project requirements and specifications.

    + Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using appropriate programming languages and development tools.

    + Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software applications to ensure functionality and performance meet quality standards.

    Requirement Analysis:

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.

    + Translate business needs into technical requirements and develop solutions that address user needs effectively.

    Version Control and Documentation:

    + Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code repositories and track changes.

    + Maintain comprehensive documentation of software architecture, design decisions, and coding standards.

    Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):

    + Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.

    + Monitor and optimize CI/CD workflows to enhance development efficiency and productivity.

    Collaboration and Teamwork:

    + Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver integrated software solutions.

    + Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and contributing to code quality improvements.

    Performance Optimization:

    + Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize software applications for speed, scalability, and efficiency.

    + Conduct profiling and analysis to improve application performance and resource utilization.

    Security and Compliance:

    + Implement security best practices and protocols to protect sensitive data and mitigate cybersecurity risks.

    + Ensure software applications comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

    Research and Innovation:

    + Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development.

    + Explore innovative solutions and technologies to enhance the organization's technical capabilities and competitive advantage.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required); advanced degree or certifications may be preferred.

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, with proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).

    + Strong understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, and best practices.

    + Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js) and/or mobile development platforms (e.g., iOS, Android) may be advantageous.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

    + Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

     

    The Software Developer typically works in an office environment, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to develop and deploy software solutions.
