The role** **you** **’ll** **contribute** **:
Performs a variety of support activities for the surgical team promoting efficient team functioning. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. Under the direction and supervision of the Coordinator, Charge Nurse, Circulator, Clinical Educator, Nurse Manager or Director of the Operating Room, contributes to the preparation, operation, and maintenance of the Operating Room functions. Performs a wide range of duties that include cleaning and setting up OR Suites before and after each surgery, moving/transporting patients, and disposing of surgical waste and linens in proper safety containers. Position requires a high level of customer service to establish and enhance positive co-worker relationships and interactions with patients and family members from infancy to geriatric, co-workers and other healthcare team members.
T** **he value** **you’ll** **bring to the team** **:
+ Prepare the surgical unit for cases/ procedures utilizing functional equipment and supplies.
+ Assist with positioning the patient and follow accepted procedures for preparation of patients for surgical procedures.
+ Assist with wraps, casts, and dressings.
+ Route non-functional equipment to proper maintenance department for repair, noting on equipment what the malfunction appears to be.
+ Assist in minor maintenance functions (i.e. replace light bulbs in power sources, surgical lights and change oxygen tanks, C02 tanks).
