    Your Opportunity

    The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of our Accounting team, responsible for handling complex Government accounting practices as an individual contributor. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Government accounting principles and the ability to navigate the entire project lifecycle from an accounting perspective. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be assigned special projects as they become familiar with the position.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    + Manage accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing, and revenue tracking.

    + Provide essential support to Project Managers throughout project setup, modification, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases, identifying and addressing potential issues promptly.

    + Participate in joint venture accounting activities, including comprehensive financial statement preparation and the setup of new and existing joint ventures in Costpoint.

    + Ensure accurate quarterly and annual joint venture reporting to Corporate.

    + Assist with monthly reconciliations, including IFRS16 reconciliations.

    + Support tax reporting efforts by obtaining necessary documentation for submission to the tax department or CPA firm.

    + Facilitate subscription revenue setup and processing.

    + Contribute to additional special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Strong presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.

    + Ability to handle impromptu requests promptly and efficiently.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

    + Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    + Proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion.

    + Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel.

    + Flexibility and adeptness at meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

    + Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

    + Position requires drug screening.

    Education and Experience

    + 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar accounting role.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related discipline preferred.

    + Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.

    + Familiarity with various types of government contracts, such as Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Fixed Fees (CPFF), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP), as well as knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, JTR, DCAA Audit Guidelines, and GAAP.

    + Experience with Cognos is a plus.

    Salary Range(s):

    * $29.81 Per Hour - $43.23 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL

    * CA Other Areas $29.81 Per Hour - CA Other Areas $43.23 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

     

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
