    Job Description Summary

    The Electrical Power Systems Contracts Team has an exciting opportunity for a US Based Associate Director of Contracts. A successful candidate will lead a multi-site team of highly motivated contracts professionals, through proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution for efforts at various stages of a product’s lifecycle (Development, Production, Sustainment, etc.). The role involves strategy development, risk mitigation, team leadership, and continuous improvement through lean methodologies. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days in the office at one of the specified locations: Vandalia, OH; Bohemia, NY; Dayton, OH; Lynn, MA; or Pompano Beach, FL. In this role will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope in certain areas and will rely heavily on your understanding and experience to execute business objectives. You will also be an integral part of a dynamic cross functional team. This position will involve working and guiding your team on both USG End-Use and Civil contracts.

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    Contract Management:

    + Direct support for multiple customers and contracts of varying types (e.g., fixed price, cost reimbursement, Part 12/15, development, production).

    + Superior knowledge of identifying and mitigating risk through terms and conditions in contracts; understanding of the financial and legal implications of contract provisions; familiarity with contract law and principles; skilled at reviewing and redlining terms & conditions.

    + Present and advise business leaders on contractual risks and monetization strategies

    + Ability to build and foster strong customer relationships with varied customers

    + Present to and advise various Business Leaders on contractual risk.

    Team Leadership:

    + Lead a team of 6-8 contracts professionals, conducting performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and career planning.

    + Foster a high-performing, collaborative environment

    + Able to balance leading key pursuits and initiatives with people leadership responsibilities

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    + Ability to coach others to work well and cohesively with cross-functional stakeholders, describe terms and conditions, risks and offer mitigation ideas, lead negotiations and partner with program managers, sales, commercial operations, sourcing, engineers and others in the process of offering compliant solutions to contracting requirements.

    Lean and Continuous Improvement:

    + Lead projects and teams to improve business processes through lean methodologies.

    + Advocate for continuous improvement and FLIGHT DECK fundamentals.

    Regulatory Expertise:

    + Solid comprehension of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DoD supplements

    + Extensive knowledge of commercial legal contracts and international contracting.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

    + Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution.

    + Solid domain expertise with commercial terms and conditions, Federal Acquisition Regulations, with emphasis in 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items

    + Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Experience leading small teams or informal mentorship.

    + Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.

    + Advocacy for continuous improvement and lean methodologies.

    + Established project management skills.

    + Periodic travel (~25%).

    The base pay range for this position pay range is $145,400 - 193,800 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
