The Opportunity
Family and Children’s Association (FCA) is seeking a Licensed Therapist to provide individual, family and group therapy services to children and their families who are diagnosed or at risk of being diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Services take place primarily in the child's home and/or community but may be delivered virtually or in office based on client needs and preferences.
Responsibilities
+ Provide Family Advocacy and Support Services in alignment with the child’s treatment plan.
+ Educate and guide caregivers on available resources to enhance their advocacy and access to services.
+ Train families and youth in self-advocacy skills, especially during community transitions.
+ Support the development of behaviors and strategies that promote community integration and success.
+ Utilize the Individualized Care Model to tailor services based on each family’s strengths and needs.
+ Collaborate with families to develop and regularly update treatment and safety plans in accordance with state guidelines.
+ Complete and submit accurate progress notes within 24–48 hours of client contact.
+ Maintain consistent communication with care managers to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Qualifications
+ Must hold a valid New York State license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Psychoanalyst, or LMSW under LCSW supervision); limited permits (MHC, MFT, CAT) will be considered.
+ Preferred experience includes providing Medicaid billable services and working with children and adolescents, particularly those with mental health diagnoses.
+ Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic health record systems, is required.
+ Must be willing to travel throughout Nassau and Western Suffolk counties to deliver services.
+ Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license with a safe and responsible driving history.
