**Caterpillar Inc.** is seeking a **Global Manufacturing Automation Lead** . In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems across Earthmoving’s global manufacturing network. You will guide teams of engineers to find where modern technology best improves safety, quality, cost, and speed. This position requires extensive experience in automation technologies, project management, business acumen, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do:
+ **Strategic Planning** : Identify scalable automation opportunities across multiple manufacturing sites, develop a comprehensive automation roadmap, and align automation initiatives with overall business goals.
+ **Project Leadership:** Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders to lead and facilitate automation projects,
+ **Site Support:** Act as the Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects, providing the necessary skills and experience to ensure automation solutions align with the overall aims and objectives of the business. Mentor others by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Monitor the performance of deployed solutions, identify areas for optimization, and implement process improvements.
+ **Innovation:** Stay passionate about emerging technologies and explore innovative ways to find potential applications to solve manufacturing problems.
+ **Vendor & Supplier Management:** Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, negotiate and collaborate effectively with suppliers to meet business objectives.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
+ **Degree requirement:** Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline **OR** equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
+ **Technical expertise in automation technologies:** Experience in deploying automation solutions like robots/ cobots, AMRs/AGVs, Vision Systems, ASRS/VLM, and others. Proficiency in PLC and other programming languages.
+ **Business Acumen:** Proven experience in leading and justifying capital investment projects to enhance product cost structure. Proficiency in Discounted Cash Flow and Sensitivity analysis.
+ **Leadership:** Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally, drive alignment without direct authority, and collaborate across cultures to achieve business objectives. Effective communication skills at both working and management levels.
+ **Operations Background:** Extensive experience in manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety.

+ Post-graduate education/degree is desired.
**Additional Info** :
+ Travel for this position may be over 25% (domestic and international).
+ Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
