    PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled **Engineer Embedded Software** to support an advanced aerospace program. This full-time consulting opportunity places you at the forefront of embedded systems development, contributing to technologies that have real-world impact and national significance.

     

    Role Overview

     

    As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of mission-critical embedded software. Your work will help power next-generation aerospace systems, delivering performance, security, and innovation where it matters most.

     

    Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance

    What You’ll Do

    + Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for complex aerospace systems

    + Translate system-level requirements into scalable and secure code

    + Collaborate with systems engineering teams to refine software requirements and interfaces

    + Debug and resolve issues within real-time, multi-threaded environments

    + Create comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications and algorithm descriptions

    + Contribute to proposal development and technical planning

    Location & Schedule

    + **Location:** Northridge, CA 91324

    + **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, First Shift (9/80 schedule)

    + **Contract Type:** Consultant (6 Months, Contract-to-Hire)

    + **Pay Range:** $48.50 – $61.39 per hour

     

    What You Bring

    _Required Qualifications_

    + B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field

    + 5+ years of experience in embedded software development (3+ with Master’s, 1+ with PhD)

    + Strong proficiency in C and object-oriented programming

    + Experience developing in RTOS environments and real-time, multi-threaded systems

    + Familiarity with ARM architectures and low-level firmware integration

    + Hands-on experience with Agile development tools (Jira, Git, Bitbucket)

    _Preferred Qualifications_

    + Experience with missile systems, launch technologies, or fire control systems

    + Familiarity with PowerPC architectures and FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog)

    + Proficiency in system-level testing and validation strategies

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork

    **Pay Details:** $48.50 to $61.39 per hour
