Job: Manager Phlebotomy Inpatient Program
Hours: Roughly 07:00AM-4:00PM

Summary:
+ This position leads and manages phlebotomy operations across three shifts and in all locations at LGH and WBH. Shift Supervisors will report to this position to provide consistency and standardized workflows and training across all inpatient locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
•Plans and coordinates daily operations across all three shifts for inpatient phlebotomy locations including staff schedules, workflow, supply inventory, patient care coordinations, and inter and intra-departmental communications.
•Develops operational procedures and processes for all patient care activities with clinical and nursing staff. Assures compliance to regulatory agencies and accreditation standards.
•Monitors and provides corrective action to abberant process flows and nonconformances so that patient care is correctly in timely manners.
•Demonstrates working knowledge of Clinical and information systems related to business unit. Provides direction to staff on training standards and downtime procedures. Develops system training standards.
•Leads quality assurance, data tracking and process improvements to meet clinical and regulatory needs.
•Creates and develops policies and procedures and training formats as needed and coordinates with Phlebotomy Educator as needed.
•Assures departmental staffing and retention across all shifts to meet clinical care and patient needs. Leads Supervisory team to assure department operations meet clinical patient care needs.
•Serves on interdepartmental committees and works collaboratively with other patient care and nursing teams to meet diagnostic needs of patients and operations.
•Assists in preparation of department budget and finances and variance investigation and reporting.
•Assists in implementation of new processes and equipment including trials, evaluations and recall events.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:** **The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Serves as Lab Manager to cover other lab sections within ability of education and training especially during periods of on-call or management of lab critical events.
+ Maintains professional acumens and required certifications.
+ Applies continuous/process improvements using Lean methodologies as needed and assigned.
+ Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience: •5+ years Phlebotomy experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting. •3+ years Phlebotomy leadership or supervisory experience.
+ Associate of Arts or Science
+ Education Specialization: in Allied Health or related field Equivalent Experience:
+ Bachelor of Arts or Science
+ Education Specialization: in Allied Health or related field Equivalent Experience:
+ Master of Arts or Science
+ Education Specialization: Health Care Management or equivalent Equivalent Experience:
