    Who will you be working with?

     

    The Wabtec LOCOTROL,® portfolio includes both Distributed Power and Remote Control Locomotive technologies. In this role, the Senior Project Engineer will lead some of the most complex and technically challenging projects within the business while providing guidance to your best-in-industry peers and team members.

     

    How will you make a difference?

     

    As a senior member of the LOCOTROL team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and vision for project execution on programs ranging from 4 weeks to 2 years. The successful applicant will work closely with engineering leadership to ensure that project execution are aligned with business priorities and strategies. This role will be a member of a team empowered to voice and drive positive change.

     

    What do we want to know about you?

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Engineering, Application Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Validation, Hardware / Software Engineering, and/or Data Information Systems.

    + Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment.

    + Prior project execution experience with large-scale software projects and the ability to lead and motivate high potential technical project teams.

    + Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

     

    What will your typical day look like?

     

    + Translate customer needs, project requirements and basis of estimate (BOE) into detailed project plans while driving internal execution to meet project milestones.

    + Work with the team to identify, design and implement process improvements that advance quality and efficiency.

    + Manage project timeline/development schedule and ensure internal resources and external dependencies are aligned to complete project deliverables per plan.

    + Work cross-functionally to ensure continuity, consistency and CTQ’s are met.

    + Provide project leadership for the engineering team. Maintain and track project tasks, features and action items. Identify and escalate project risks to Program and Engineering Management to help ensure OTD commitments are met.

    + Coach and mentor team members with a mindset to improve individual and team performance.

    + Assist in the deployment and monitoring of the product. Monitor product and customer reported issues and ensure defects are logged, assigned, and tracked to completion.

    + Lead in the development of proposals for projects as required.

    + Ensure that delivered products achieve highest quality and performance levels.

    + Be able to think critically and creatively to develop solutions that enable the best outcomes for the business.

    + Develop metrics and scorecards to measure key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze and drive improvements.

    + Be a leading voice for continuous improvement and growth in the business

    + Foster a culture of inclusion and positivity by leading and communicating effectively

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.     Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

     

    $89,100.00-$126,900.00

     

    The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com . Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
