A Brief Overview

Responds and assists the Physician and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff during the pre-procedure, procedure or post-procedure period. This position will assist with procedure room set-up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.

What you will do

+ Transports and transfers patients.

+ Prepares the room for procedure in a timely fashion.

+ Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physician’s request during procedures.

+ Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.

+ Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.

+ Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.

+ Assists with secretarial/clerical duties as needed.

+ Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintanence and repair requests and prepare related forms.

+ Cleans and maintains equipment.

+ Keeps stock and equipment inventories.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

+ Technical Certificate six months to one year medical experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

+ SGNA GI Associate's Program - Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) within 1-1/2 Yrs
