    We're seeking a dedicated and passionate Pre-K Teacher to join our team at Mamaroneck Union Free School District and provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate education for young learners for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will plan and implement engaging lessons, conduct student assessments, and foster a positive learning environment.

     

    PAY:$30.00 - $35.00 per hour

     

    (Please note this will be hourly pay & not salary; however, you will get paid consistently using our new Fixed Rate UPK Options. Fixed Rate Options will be discussed during the Offer)

     

    STATUS:Part Time, non-exempt

     

    HOURS:Monday - Friday, 8:45 am - 3:30 pm (following the district calendar)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Follow theCreative Curriculumframework and participate in the provided training.

    + TeachFundations and Heggertyas part of foundational literacy instruction.

    + Administer and score the Early Screening Inventoryto evaluate student development.

    + Complete report cardsto track and communicate student progress.

    + Conduct parent-teacher conferencesto discuss student achievements, growth, and areas for development.

    + Maintain accuratedaily attendancerecords and emphasize the importance of consistent student attendance for learning success.

    + Plan, prepare, and executedevelopmentally appropriate lesson plansthat align with UPK School District requirements.

    + Use positive guidance strategies to encourage appropriate classroom behavior.

    + Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff through professional and respectful communication.

    + Collaborate withteacher assistantsto support student learning and classroom management.

    + Design the classroom layout followingECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale)standards for optimal learning.

    + AttendCPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) meetingsas needed to support student needs and individualized education plans (IEPs).

    + Participate in ongoingprofessional developmentopportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.

    + Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the program’s goals and objectives.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + CurrentNYS teaching certificatevalid for service in early childhood grades.

    + Bachelor’s degree(Master’s preferred).

    + Experience teachingpreschool-age children.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    To be qualified as a Pre-K teacher, a person must possess one of the following:

    + New York State Certification Birth-Grade 2

    + New York State Certification N-6

    + New York State Certification P, K, 1-6

    + Bachelor’s Degree & 5-Year Plan
