Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Chair, Department of Dentistry and Residency Program Director at Morristown Medical Center
The Department of Dentistry at Morristown Medical Center seeks a full-time Chair and Residency Program Director. In this dual role, the ideal candidate will serve as a passionate role model for clinical excellence and patient care, driving quality, patient safety, and positive clinical outcomes while maintaining visibility and credibility in the field. They will oversee quality and clinical management to meet patient needs, collaborate with other campuses to share best practices, and actively participate in committees to enhance services.
Acting as a liaison between voluntary dental staff and administration, they will represent constituents' ideas and foster alignment with AHS, promoting collegiality and engagement. The candidate will support and implement patient experience programs, develop strategic plans for business growth, and ensure the acquisition of necessary equipment, technologies, and facilities. They will also play a key role in talent management, overseeing staff performance, recruitment, retention, and professional development while implementing reward and recognition programs.
Additionally, they will lead The Morristown Medical Central Dental Residency Program, providing oversight of all educational activities. The Program Director will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the program curriculum, ensuring it meets accreditation standards and provides an excellent educational experience for residents. This individual will play a pivotal role in the selection, supervision, and mentorship of residents, fostering a supportive and challenging environment that promotes professional growth and development.
+ DDS/DMD in general dentistry from an accredited dental program
+ Completion of an accredited GPR program
+ Active New Jersey State license and DEA
+ Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership, academic or educational role.
+ Demonstrated experience in dental residency education and/or program management.
+ Familiarity with CODA accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
+ Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
