Come join us at Meta!Meta is seeking a Security Engineering Manager with extensive experience investigating and analyzing complex adversarial threats to support the mission of our Integrity Investigations, Intelligence, and Events organization (i3E). This person will be responsible for supporting, developing, and scaling a threat investigations team with the goal of proactively identifying and responding to threats posed to Meta’s community of users. The team investigates complex threats, scales investigative insights, and uses innovative research approaches to understand adversarial actor behaviors and deter this activity. The impact of this work is substantial, with the potential to affect billions of people who use our products.

    Required Skills:

    Security Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

    1. Support a team of security engineers and threat investigators who discover, detect, investigate, and respond to threats from malicious actors

    2. Provide technical direction and guidance within the domain to team members

    3. Influence and align the organization’s vision and strategy while engaging your team to develop and deliver specific roadmaps and projects

    4. ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of this work within a changing business environment

    5. Coach, mentor, support, and care for the teams to enable long-term career development and success at scale

    6. Track operational metrics, key performance indicators, and team health to drive team performance

    7. Work with, partner, and influence other teams to solve challenges related to a broad spectrum of threat actors based on investigative findings and key intelligence

    8. Build, cultivate, and maintain productive relationships with internal partners to identify and facilitate solutions to increase the impact of the team's work

    9. Identify and develop areas to scale aspects of our investigations

    Minimum Qualifications:

    10. BA/BS or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience

    11. 5+ years of work experience, including hands-on technical management, experience leading global security/investigative teams, and proven contribution at both strategic and operational levels

    12. 3+ years experience of people management and organizational leadership

    13. Experience working cross-functionally with security engineers, analysts, product, engineering, legal, policy, and public affairs

    14. Experience working with broad communities and global teams

    15. Knowledge of advanced persistent threat groups

    16. Experience in functional or scripting language (JavaScript, PHP, Python, OCaml, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    17. Knowledge of or experience in international and domestic terrorism issues, transnational criminal organizations, or state-sponsored cyber threat actors.

    18. Experience querying large data sets and SQL

    19. Experience in crisis management or incident response environments

    20. Demonstrated interest in understanding the intersection of global security risks and technology, especially as it pertains to Meta

    Public Compensation:

    $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
