Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description:
The programming coordinator will support the program strategy team helping to publish program schedules and posting content to our various digital platforms, including our apps, websites, and cable set-top-box video on demand services. This individual will be responsible for tracking programming performance, assisting the team in pivoting content plans, ensuring all programming info is input and maintained in our scheduling system, and brainstorming stunts and creative ideas to drive ratings for both networks. We’re looking for an analytical and creative candidate with a deep passion for television and film who has a background in program scheduling and content strategy to join our highly collaborative and fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Create, maintain and distribute programming grids
+ Assist in the entry, maintenance and schedule change distribution of 24-hour linear programming schedules
+ Manage episodic metadata process by inputting titles, loglines/descriptions, parental ratings, Material IDs, expirations, keywords, etc. within scheduling system
+ Assist in long-term movie planning and manage inventory and allocations to ensure titles are being used strategically and effectively
+ Coordinate shared usage of series, acquisitions, and movie planning across the entire portfolio; track ratings performance and potential internal and competitive conflicts
+ Serve as point person for listings, working with metadata and Gracenote teams to confirm accuracy across all platforms
+ Weekly premiere calendar updates, short and long-term stunt and marathon brainstorms for original series, movies and acquisitions
+ Perform daily VOD checks
+ Assist in scheduling meetings and preparing materials for cross-departmental meetings and head of department; provide updates to the team as needed
+ Track trends and content across the entertainment industry and stay abreast of breaking news and events that may impact programming decisions; update systems accordingly
+ Screen series and movies to be scheduled on both networks
+ Ad hoc special tasks and projects such as creation of slides for presentations, ratings research, competition tracking, etc.
+ Assist in creating, editing, and formatting presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and memos
+ Participate in meetings, including preparing and distributing agendas, taking notes, and distributing summaries and action items
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

+ Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience in the field of Entertainment Media
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
+ Exceptional attention to detail
+ Love of TV and movies
+ Awareness of the TV landscape including traditional networks and platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Prime
+ Flexibility with day to day schedule
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completion

+ Pro-active thinker/self-starter

+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
+ This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
