    What You'll Do

     

    We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) team. In this role, you'll own the planning and execution of critical initiatives, understand the desired outcomes, develop the overall detailed implementation plan and roadmap, and lead all aspects of the development and delivery of the identified initiatives that are tied to Principal's enterprise strategy and the RIS strategy!

    You'll have the opportunity to:

    + Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of process improvement/transformative projects to deliver intended results and develop close working relationships with cross-functional partners

    + Understand the strategic objectives and vision of RIS to develop the management approach and roadmap

    + Partner to ensure execution is outcome driven and results are moving strategy forward

    + Bring transparency to progress through data; position for discussion and decisions on direction

    + Communication of progress towards outcomes and strategic results; manage raised issues, risks, interdependencies, and roadblocks

    + Provide organization and facilitation that fosters collaboration and driving action

    + Synchronize initiatives that span Workplace Savings and Retirement Solutions, RIS and our enterprise

    + Consistently use and improve various methodologies from ideation, prioritization through collaboration & implementation. Including project management process, systems development methods, change management concepts, scope management, and business process improvement methods

    + Keep current as to new developments, standard methodologies, industry trends, and new innovations

    Who You Are

    + 6+ years project, program, initiative management experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education

    + Excellent leadership, communication, planning, decision making, and negotiation skills

    + Ability to partner and drive engagement with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors, and influence others without formal authority

    + Results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations

    + Ability to execute effectively in matrix management environment

    + Maintain understanding of the general capabilities of information technology and applications to find opportunities for process improvement

    Additional preferred experience:

    + Project Management

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) designation

    + Financial Services/Retirement industry

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $100800 - $182400 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
