Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction of the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive intramural, recreational sports, fitness, health, and wellness program, including wellness education events and outreach along with leadership opportunities for students at North Hennepin Community College. This position will provide leadership and management for all operations of the recreation facilities, including management of the weight room, gym, studio, locker rooms, and game room. It provides supervisory responsibility for all Recreation & Wellness student workers and interns, which includes recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision.
Salary Range:
$23.63 - $34.18 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree
+ Understanding and advocacy of a recreational sports and activities program in a college setting.
+ Broad and varied knowledge of developing, promoting, scheduling, supervising, and conducting recreational and leisure activities.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
+ Ability and commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and building rapport with constituent groups.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments concurrently.
+ Ability to make sound, independent judgments.
+ Ability and commitment to remain highly visible and accessible to program participants.
Preferred Qualification
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Experience in student services/student life preferred.
+ Exhibits strong interpersonal skills.
+ Flexible and creative in meeting the needs of a diverse population.
+ Innovative and patient in dealing with difficult and/or stressful situations.
+ Demonstrates a strong sense of fairness and equity.
+ Reacts decisively to issues, considering what is in the best interest of all involved.

Work Shift
Monday - Friday
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Occasional evenings and weekends
