    Position: Sr. Merchandise Manager, Trail

     

    What will you do?

     

    A day in the life of a **Sr. Merchandise** **Manager** at The North Face looks a little like this.

    + Contributes to the 3YP Apparel strategy by driving the category’s vision and serving business opportunities in alignment with Brand direction.

    + Contributes to briefing future Apparel innovation pipeline in tight collaboration with Brand Innovation team, Sr Director and APP Dev/Design POD.

    + Contributes to Product strategy and execution of highly technical Apparel categories: Trail Running, Hiking- all requiring expertise and technical knowledge due to higher product complexity and more testing required.

    + Oversees all Seasonal product briefs for Performance Apparel, Trail category

    + Gathers complex market consumer research and interprets opportunities (competitive analysis/comps shops) to align on seasonal opportunities.

    + Owns and manages franchise management and line planning for respective category with high focus on regional marketplace needs.

    + Accountable to meet / exceed Margin targets for the category.

    + Drives cross-functional collaboration with Design and Development teams during the creation process to deliver high quality product that aligns with market demands, consumer expectations, and brand authenticity.

    + Drives Global assortment plans for category and reconciles line plan with regional merchandising financial plans at key milestones to ensure alignment.

    + Drives Global Segmentation at Consumer, Category, Channel and Tier level to create necessary distinction for sustainable growth.

    + Participates in the cross functional Go-To-Market work stream outside of the Product creation process, ensuring seasonal Product category vision is brought to life in-store and online with Planning, Brand, and sourcing partners.

    + Presents product line to Leaders across the organization and influences external Key Accounts decisions to buy. Inspires confidence across the Brand, demonstratingexpertise on category, consumer, and market.

    + Team management, accountable for developing direct reports and managing workload for Trail Category. Establishes cadence for team individual TBs, aligns team with VF process.

     

    What do you need to succeed?

     

    We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your **7** **+** **years of experience in apparel merchandising working with** **business driving functions including product management,** **design** **,** **and** **product development.**

    The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

    + A relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience

    + Proven track record of managing full product lifecycle and demonstrates deep product knowledge including ft, fabric, garment construction, and costing.

    + Effective end to end calendar management skills

    + Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics and profitability analysis.

    + Excellentcollaboration skills, including a proven ability to communicate with various levels of management and employees within the organization with clarity.

    + Be able to lead and influence others and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups of people.

    + Organizational and project planning skills -ability to develop and manage multiple timelines and deadlines.

    + Proactive approach toidentifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with a values driven commitment to do what is right.

    + High degree of agility and adaptability.

    + Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and problem-solving.

    + Experience managing at least 1 direct report.

    Hiring Range** **:

    $120,960.00 USD - $151,200.00 USD annually

     

    **Incentive Potential** : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
