    _***This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering State (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin). Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.***_

    This position conducts audits on the Department’s internal organizations, contractors, grantees, and vendors. These audits could cover internal controls, financial statements, resident trust accounts, cash receipts, special reviews, and financial projections. This position will ensure that grants are managed in accordance with Departmental policies and procedures, applicable state and federal regulations, and the Office of Grants Management policies. It will administer, and conduct internal audits, performing the full range of audit functions, including the audit and review offinancial activities and internal controls of departmental functions and processes, both manual and electronic.

    Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

    + Conduct audits of the Department’s internal operations to determine if the areas are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting principles, and internal control systems.

    + Perform follow-up reviews ofprior audits that have beenperformed (either bytheOffice of Internal Controls and Accountability or theLegislative Auditor's Office) todetermine whether recommended changes were properly implemented.

    + Plan and conduct audits of the Department’s contractors, grantees, and vendors to determine compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and grants and contract agreements.

    Minimum Qualifications

    For Auditor:

    Two (2) years advanced administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical experience in financial, operating, and/or compliance auditing;

    OR

    Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related degree and one (1) year administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical experience in financial, operating, and/or compliance auditing;

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related degree.

    For Auditor Intermediate:

    One (1) year of experience in financial, operating, and/or compliance auditing.

    OR

    Three (3) years advanced administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical experience in financial, operating, and/or compliance auditing;

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related degree and two (2) years administrative support, paraprofessional, or technical experience in financial, operating, and/or compliance auditing;

    OR

    Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related degree.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + _Experience with governmental auditing standards._

    + _Participation in professional organizations (ex. Institute of Internal Auditors chapter)._

    + _Knowledge of_ Humanresourcepolicies,procedures,andlaborcontracts.

    + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
