Job Title: Enterprise Architect (SME)

Primary Location: Reston, VA or Washington, DC

Clearance: Top-Secret (TS) Clearance

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect (SME) with a strong background in designing, building, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-class systems and architectures. This individual will play a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business objectives, developing current and target architectures, and ensuring system interoperability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically versatile, and adept at identifying design gaps while driving strategic technology initiatives in a mission-critical production environment.

Responsibilities:

•    Develop, implement, and maintain scalable and secure enterprise architectures to support business and  mission objectives.

•    Create and maintain baseline and target architecture models for production environments.

•    Align architecture standards and frameworks with overall business and IT strategy.

•    Identify and address design gaps in existing and proposed architectures to ensure system stability, interoperability, and portability.

•    Recommend and guide implementation of architecture enhancements and improvements.

•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, business analysts, and project managers.

•    Ensure architecture documentation is current and aligned with Agile delivery practices.

Required Qualifications:

•    Active Top Secret clearance (required).

•    Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, systems design, or software engineering.

•    Associate degree in a related field (or 2 years of additional related experience in lieu of degree).

•    Proven expertise in architectural design and enterprise system integration.

•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

•    Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

•    Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments.

•    Front-End Development: JavaScript (ES6+), Angular, Material UI, RESTful API design and implementation, Adherence to code quality and standardization practices

•    Back-End Development: .NET Framework 4+, C# and F#, OpenText Content Server

•    Development Tools & Practices: Git version control, Azure DevOps for project and pipeline management, Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools (e.g., SonarQube, GitLab SAST), Unit and Integration testing (e.g., xUnit, NUnit), End-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber), Experience in test automation practices

•    Platform & Infrastructure: Windows Service Fabric, Attribute and Role-Based Access Control (ABAC/RBAC), Splunk administration and monitoring, Windows Server administration

•    Data & Reporting: SQL Server 2019 or later, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

•    Methodologies & Tools: Agile principles and delivery methodologies

•    Business analysis and project tracking using Azure DevOps

Preferred Qualifications:

•    TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification

•    Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

•    Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe Agilist
