    HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR - POWER

    Locat ion: Pittsburgh, PA

     

    Classification: Full Time, Exempt

     

    Reports to:  CEO

     

    PGH Salary Range:  $77,000 - $97,000

    Job Summary

    POWER is dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives from addiction and related emotional health issues, creating a positive impact for future generations. The Human Resources (HR) Director will lead POWER’s HR function by developing and implementing HR strategies that promote compliance, consistency, and stability while supporting a mission-driven, inclusive culture. This role will oversee HR policies, talent management, DEI initiatives, compliance, employee engagement, and workforce planning, ensuring alignment with POWER’s strategic objectives. The HR Director will  improve internal systems, leveraging data for informed decision-making, fostering a diverse and sustainable workforce, and increasing community engagement. This position requires an HR leader who can work collaboratively with executives while maintaining independence in risk management and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure compliance with employment laws; standardize HR policies and procedures; lead organizational change initiatives; serve as Civil Rights Compliance Officer.

    + Data-Driven HR Strategy: Oversee HRIS; analyze workforce data to inform decisions; implement performance tracking systems; provide insights to leadership for organizational development.

    + Talent Acquisition & Retention: Design inclusive recruitment and onboarding strategies; develop retention programs and career pathways; conduct workforce planning to sustain talent pipelines.

    + Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Integrate DEI into HR policies and practices; lead equity and anti-racism initiatives; ensure fair compensation and advancement opportunities.

    + Employee Relations & Culture: Serve as trusted advisor to leadership and staff; manage employee relations and conflict resolution; promote a culture of transparency, trust, and engagement.

    + Community Engagement: Build partnerships to expand recruitment and workforce development efforts; collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance community presence.

    + Executive Collaboration: Advise executive leadership on HR strategy and risk; report to Board of Directors on compliance and workforce trends; ensure alignment with POWER’s strategic vision.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

     

    M aster’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    + PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

    + Minimum 5 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.

    + Strong knowledge of employment laws, risk mitigation, and compliance.

    + Experience implementing HR policies, performance management, and recruitment strategies.

    + Expertise in HR technology and data-driven decision-making.

    + Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring and workplace practices.

    + Ability to secure Act 33 and 34 clearances.

    + Ability to climb stairs and lift light boxes.
